Ted Koppel’s son Andrew died on May 31 after a day of heavy drinking, but it appears that drinking was not all he was up to: According to the medical examiner’s office, traces of heroin, cocaine, diazepam, which is the generic form of Valium, and Levamisole were found in his system in addition to alcohol. Koppel spent the day of May 30 drinking with a man whom he had just met that day.
