Chris Burrous, a morning news anchor on Los Angeles’ KTLA TV station, has died at age 43 after police found him unresponsive in a motel room. The Glendale Police Department said it received a call about 1:15 p.m. Thursday saying a man at a Days Inn had passed out and was possibly not breathing. Glendale firefighters responded and found Burrous—CPR was administered and he was taken to a hospital, where he later died. “The original call to the Glendale Police Department indicated the deceased had possibly overdosed,” the police department said. In a statement, Don Corsini, president of KTLA, and Jason Ball, the station’s news director, remembered the anchor as a “great journalist and a wonderful friend to many,” adding: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Burrous family. Chris loved sharing the stories of Southern California and connecting with our viewers.” Burrous is survived by his wife, Mai Do-Burrous, and 9-year-old daughter Isabella.
