Says clinic needs to have a partnership with a hospital.
Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin has ordered the Planned Parenthood in Louisville to stop performing abortions, saying that the clinic needs to have an agreement with a hospital in case women undergoing the procedure experience complications. In a statement, the Republican governor said that Planned Parenthood is “openly and knowingly operating an unlicensed abortion facility in clear violation of the law.” According to Planned Parenthood, state officials told the clinic it would soon receive a go-ahead to perform abortions. This was in December before Bevin took office.
