When actor Terry Crews questioned why the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office dropped his sexual harassment accusations against talent agent Adam Venit, officials maintained that the claims did not reach “felony filing standards,” USA Today reports. Crews tweeted on Saturday that Venit—whom Crews accused of groping him at a 2016 party—had connections to the Los Angeles Police Department. “Adam Venit has been the Event Chairman of the LAPD Foundation, which raises millions for the LAPD,” he wrote. “Anyone wonder why my assault case against him was thrown out by the D.A.? Yeah, #MeToo.” The newspaper reports that Venit is a board member of the Los Angeles Police Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funds for the police department. Earlier this year, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office concluded that Venit “twice grabbed” Crews but declined to pursue charges because there was “no contact with his skin, and no restraint involved.”
