Iberia Parish, Louisiana Sheriff Louis Ackal was indicted on Thursday for playing a role in an incident involving eight former employees beating up detainees at the local jail. They, along with Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Savoy, face civil rights violations for the beating which happened in 2011. One individual died while in custody in the parish jail.
