The L.A. sheriff's office said Friday that Natalie Wood's husband, Robert Wagner, is not a suspect in her death, despite claims by the boat captain that the actor is "resposonsible" for Wood's death. A source in the sheriff's office said Friday they will start by interviewing Dennis Davern, who says he lied to investigators in 1981. "We didn't take any steps to see if we could locate her" Darvin said on the Today show Friday morning, adding that Wagner intentionally kept the investigation into her death under a low profile. Wagner, Wood, and her Brainstorm co-star Christopher Walken were boating off Santa Catalina Island when she drowned, and there have been reports that there was a verbal fight on board. Los Angeles police have reopened the case based on "additional information."
