No surprise here: The International Monetary Fund named Christine Lagarde new head of the organization in Washington today, after she was endorsed by the U.S. earlier this morning. The current finance minister of France is replacing Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the disgraced former IMF chief who resigned last month after being charged with sexually assaulting a New York City maid. Lagarde, 55, will be sworn in as boss for a five-year term on July 5.
