The Los Angeles Police Department is not investigating actor Brad Pitt for child abuse, a spokesperson confirmed Thursday. TMZ previously reported that Angelina Jolie’s recently announced divorce from Pitt was linked to the latter’s alleged physical and verbal abuse of their children, and that the LAPD was probing the actor over his purported actions. However, as Sgt. Barry Montgomery told The Hollywood Reporter: “We understand how rumors get spun up and hopefully we can put a few of them to rest. We have no criminal investigation that we are actively pursuing.”
