Larry Wilmore thinks Bill Clinton might be trying to “tank” his wife’s presidential campaign.
The Nightly Show host pointed to an altercation the former president had with Black Lives Matter protesters last week over her use of the term “superpredators” to describe young African-American men two decades ago.
Clinton vigorously defended his wife’s past rhetoric, saying at a Philadelphia rally, “I don’t know how you would describe the gang leaders who got 13-year-olds hopped up on crack and sent them out in the streets to murder other African-American children. Maybe you thought they were good citizens, she didn’t.”
For a little context, Wilmore explained that “the term ‘superpredator’ was all the rage in the ’90s.” But now, even the man who coined the phrase has tried to distance himself from it.
“And by the way, Hillary’s got a lot of nerve characterizing black youth as ‘superpredators’ when she’s married to a superpredator,” Wilmore remarked, flashing the images of Bill’s past lovers on the screen. “He spent the whole ’80s and ’90s superpredatoring his ass off!”
