LA’s Ferguson Protesters To Be Released

THANKFUL

In time for Thanksgiving dinner.

Overnight almost 150 protestors around Los Angeles were arrested after days of protesting the grand jury’s decision to not charge Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson after he shot and killed an unarmed 18-year-old. Massive protests immediately sparked across the country. But, those who couldn’t post bail in time for Thanksgiving will be released in time for dinner, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck ordered. “We have every legal right to keep them until they post bail,” Cmdr. Andrew Smith told the Los Angeles Times, “but in light of the holiday … [Beck] called and said he wants everybody who is eligible for release to be released by dinner time.” Those released will have to sign a note promising to appear in court.
