Las Vegas Set to Tweak Its Famous ‘What Happens Here...’ Slogan

BUT WHY?

The catchphrase has been around since 2002 but the city is reportedly adopting a new one.

Is it the New Coke of city slogans? Las Vegas is reportedly ditching its well-known wink-and-nudge catchphrase, “What happens here, stays here.” ABC News says the somewhat less saucy replacement—“What happens here, only happens here”—will be officially unveiled in an ad during the Grammys telecast on Sunday night. It’s not clear why Sin City felt the need to get rid of the oft-quoted slogan it first introduced in 2002.
