Las Vegas Suspect Was Dead Before Cybertruck Exploded at Trump Hotel
Investigators in Las Vegas say they haven’t ruled out a possible connection between the Trump International Hotel blast and a terrorist attack in New Orleans.

The suspect accused of blowing up a rented Cybertruck in front of Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel was dead before the vehicle exploded. Police said Thursday the suspect, identified by sources as Matthew Livelsberger, shot himself in the head just before explosives were detonated just outside the Trump International Hotel’s lobby on Wednesday. Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill said investigators found a handgun at the suspect’s feet and a bullet wound in his head. McMahill suggested it wasn’t easy to reach that conclusion because the culprit’s body was “burnt beyond recognition” and remained in the Cybertruck for “a very long period of time.” Unlike federal investigators who have said there is no connection, McMahill said he is not ruling out the possibility that Wednesday’s blast might somehow be connected to a terror attack that killed 14 in New Orleans earlier that day. He noted there were “very strange similarities,” including the suspects’ military backgrounds and that they both rented their vehicles-turned-weapons using the Turo app. Unlike in New Orleans, however, the only fatality in Las Vegas was its lone suspect. The Green Beret’s motive remains a mystery.
