The last British resident held at the prison in Guantanamo Bay has been released to the U.K., after 13 years without trial or charges. The U.S. alleged that Shaker Aamer, who was arrested in 2001 in Afghanistan, led a unit of Taliban fighters and met Osama bin Laden, but he said that he was doing charity work. Aamer is allowed to live in the U.K. because he is married to a British citizen, with whom he has four children.
