Bretagne, a 16-year-old golden retriever believed to be the last living search-and-rescue dog from the site of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, was euthanized in Houston on Monday. About two-dozen firefighters honored the dog and bid her farewell as she walked by them one last time. A U.S. flag was placed over her as she was carried out of the hospital.
