An associate dean at the University of Oklahoma College of Law has resigned after the discovery of writings in which he attacked same-sex marriage and said women must “veil their form” to help men. Prof. Brian McCall left Tuesday after his previous remarks were labeled “homophobic” and “sexist” by a student newspaper. His 2014 book—titled To Build the City of God: Living as Catholics in a Secular Age—calls gay marriage “insanity” and one section is dedicated to “Women in Pants and Similar Frauds.” In one section, he wrote: “Women must veil their form to obscure its contours out of charity towards men.” McCall told USA Today that he was “forced by a mob reaction to resign my administrative responsibilities” and said that he was “saddened that I have had to give up the opportunity to work for our students simply because of my sincerely held Catholic beliefs.”
