A lawsuit filed by a group of retired pro-football players on Tuesday alleges that the National Football League illegally provided them with narcotics and painkillers. According to the players, the league obtained and supplied drugs without prescriptions in order to get injured players back to the field as soon as possible. The players (including Jim McMahon, Richard Dent, and Keith Van Horne of the champion 1985 Chicago Bears) say they weren't told about injuries and sent back to play without proper medical treatment. Eight players are named in the suit, and 500 more have signed on to it.
