A military lawyer representing Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl said Tuesday the accused U.S. Army deserter should be awarded a Purple Heart and a Prisoner of War medal. Army Lt. Col. Bergdahl faces a court-martial for charges of “misbehavior before the enemy” and desertion, the former of which could earn him a life sentence in jail.
