A Kurdish activist seeking asylum in Serbia has reportedly been extradited back to Turkey, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Cevdet Ayaz, a Kurdish political activist, was handed over despite a contrary recommendation from the the U.N. Committee Against Torture. “I have information that he is in Turkey,” his lawyer, Ana Trkulja said. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has recently sought to strengthen ties with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
