Lawyer: Trayvon Case a ‘Challenge’

As outrage grows over the shooting death of black teenager Trayvon Martin, an attorney for the Martin family says bringing a federal hate-crime charge against the alleged killer will be “a challenge, to put it lightly.” Daryl Parks said Saturday that prosecution on the state level stands a better chance. “I think the focus is not necessarily a federal arrest over a state arrest. We want an arrest, period.” The unarmed 17-year-old Martin was killed about a month ago in Sanford, Fla., by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer who says he was acting in self-defense.
