The plot thickens. Lawyers for Dominique Strauss-Kahn say they have an alibi for the International Monetary Fund chief, according to a French radio station. The lawyers say Strauss-Kahn was having lunch with his daughter at the time when a hotel maid says he chased her down a corridor, forced her into a room, and attempted to rape her. The lawyers say they have material evidence and witnesses, and that Strauss-Kahn will plead not guilty. Strauss-Kahn was arrested minutes before his Paris-bound flight was scheduled to take off from JFK, threatening a scandalous end to the career of the IMF managing director and presumed opponent of Nicolas Sarkozy in the upcoming French presidential elections.
