Hours after The New York Times published its explosive interview with accused child molester Jerry Sandusky, the victims’ attorneys decried the words of the former Penn State assistant coach. “Jerry Sandusky has chosen to provide the national media with an entirely unconvincing denial and a series of bizarre explanations,” said attorney Andrew Shubin, adding that Sandusky should “accept responsibility.” David J. Marshall, also working on the case, said that the interview “goes a long way toward corroborating the victims’ accounts and further expanding the web of liability. He admits he ‘wrestled’ and showered alone with the boys.” While another lawyer, Justine Andronici, added: “He claims that some victims were ‘drawn into this,’ and talks about all the ‘positive’ things he did for them … Pedophiles often horribly mischaracterize the abuse they perpetrate as something that their victims sought or benefited from.”
