Disney announced on Monday that they had cast Rowan Blanchard, 11, to play the lead role in the Boy Meets World spinoff, Girl Meets World. Blanchard will play Riley, the daughter of Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, who will reprise their roles as Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence. “As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” said Boy Meets World creator Michael Jacobs. If the show gets picked up, it is slated to air on Disney in the 2013-14 season.
