The Honolulu Police Department has opened an internal investigation this week into allegations that Officer Bobby Harrison wrongfully arrested a lesbian couple because they were being affectionate in a grocery store. According to the plaintiffs, Courtney Wilson and Taylor Guerrero, Harrison accosted them back in March, expressing disgust at their public display of affection. The confrontation eventually turned physical when Harrison allegedly shoved Wilson after she attempted to call 911 on the officer. Because he had no handcuffs on him, the officer had several store employees help restrain the women for their arrest. Wilson and Guerrero were arrested and charged with felony assault on an officer, and spent three days in jail. The charges were eventually dropped.
