Shinola has a message to anyone frustrated by the current state of the world:

As a company, we have always supported the spirit of hard work and getting things done. That’s why we chose Detroit as our home. That spirit is alive and well in Detroit as well as cities, both big and small, across the United States.

We encourage everyone to take part in any way they can, because our country wasn’t built on sticking letters in a suggestion box. We’re all in this together, and we can all play a part.

Five years ago, we decided to build a watch factory in Detroit. We put our faith in the city and the American workers who live there. Together, we put our mind to the task of assembling watches at scale in a town that never had.

And it’s working.

It taught us hope isn’t just found, it’s built.

And it’s time to make more of it.

So, let’s plant it, let’s grow it, build it, weld it.
