It’s been a big week for women, beginning with Jill Abramson becoming the first female executive editor at The New York Times in 160 years, and ending with Li Na bringing home the first Grand Slam tennis title to her native China. Na defeated Australian Francesca Schiavone 6-4, 7-6 in the French Open final at Roland Garros. It was only the fifth title in Li’s career, and her first ever on clay. On Sunday, five-time French Open champion Rafael Nadal will face off against his longtime rival Roger Federer in the men’s final.
