Liam Neeson ‘Can’t’ Be Racist Because He Kissed Viola Davis: ‘Widows’ Co-Star Michelle Rodriguez
NOT HELPING
Michelle Rodriguez, who co-starred with Liam Neeson in last year’s Widows, defended the actor from charges of racism at the amfAR Gala New York on Wednesday night, explaining that he “can’t” be racist because he made out with Viola Davis, who played his wife, in the film.
“It’s all fuckin’ bullshit. Liam Neeson is not a racist,” Rodriguez told Vanity Fair. “Dude, have you watched Widows? His tongue was so far down Viola Davis’s throat. You can’t call him a racist ever. Racists don’t make out with the race that they hate, especially in the way he does with his tongue—so deep down her throat. I don’t care how good of an actor you are. It’s all bullshit. Ignore it. He’s not a racist. He’s a loving man. It’s all lies.”
Earlier in the week, Neeson told an interviewer that he once had fantasies about looking for “some ‘black bastard’” to kill after a friend revealed she had been raped by a black man. In an attempt at damage control on Good Morning America, Neeson explained that “power-walking” for two hours a day helped him move past this “primal urge.”
