A cartoon-style painting by pop artist Roy Lichtenstein titled Ohhh...Alright... sold for $42.6 million at an auction at Christie’s in New York Wednesday, setting a new record for the artist’s work. The previous record was held by the painting In the Car, which sold for $16.2 million. Overall, $272.8 million in art was sold at the auction, including a Warhol piece Big Campbell’s Soup Can with Can Opener (Vegetable), which was expected to fetch up to $50 million but sold for only $23.9 million.
