While it seems like the whole world is joining Twitter and buying Kindles, there’s one lone voice in the wind: Andrew Price, author of Slow-Tech, a new book about life without gadgetry. Price is a marine biologist, who uses natural ecosystems to point out society’s flawed relationship with technology. This is a “manifesto for an overwound world,” but, according to The Independent, Price has dedicated too much of his ink to his favorite subject, biology. “Nature is more savage and wondrous than systems theory allows, and just as likely to upset the applecart as to maintain an equilibrium,” The Independent writes.
