Lil’ Wayne, who is currently serving a one-year sentence at a New York prison, received probation on Wednesday. In mid June, the well-known rapper pleaded guilty to drugs and weapons charges, which stemmed from a January 2008 arrest near Yuma, Arizona. The 27-year-old hip-hop artist was caught with an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of Ecstasy, nearly four ounces of marijuana, and .40-caliber handgun weapon, registered to him. He was charged with felony possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia, which carried a prison sentence of 36 months. Lil’ Wayne pleaded guilty to a reduced drug charge on June 18 and received his sentencing Wednesday via video from Rikers prison.
