In the sixth inning of Wednesday night’s spring-training game, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman, 26, was hit in the face with a line drive off the bat of Kansas City’s Salvador Perez. Chapman was carted off the field, and doctors say preliminary examinations show he's suffered fractures to bones in his nose and left eye. Chapman is a two-time All-Star, whose fastball can clock in around 100 mph. “I know this isn’t uncommon as we would like it to be, but it was frightening, certainly frightening,” said Reds Manager Bryan Price.
