Four days after the Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington took his life, the band wrote a letter to their friend. The band’s heartbreaking letter takes similar form to that of the letter Bennington wrote to the late Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell. “You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized,” Linkin Park wrote. They continued on to express the outpour “of love and support” the band has received. The band also acknowledges Bennington’s wife Talinda and his family. They conclude by saying, “Our love for making and performing music is inextinguishable,” but they do not “know what path our future may take.”
