In case you need a soundtrack to this fall week, a couple of little-known artists named Drake and Beyoncé have you covered with this track, “Can I.” Originally mysteriously leaked last May, the then-unfinished track has seen some polishing, with Drake dropping the finalized version on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Sunday, which you can compare and contrast below:
No one knows if this is a sneak peek at Drake’s upcoming Views From the 6 album or if it’s something else entirely, but it’s not a first-time pairing: The duo worked together on Beyoncé’s “Mine” a few years ago. Check that out here:
Either way, it’s interesting that a Bey-related project would premiere at Apple, when her hubby Jay Z has the competing Tidal service. No doubt the Internet’s conspiracy-theory mill is already starting to scream and yowl at the possibilities.
