Litter Fockers Beats Out True Grit at Wednesday Box Office
The third battle between Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller is proving to be more popular than expected. The latest installment in the Meet the Parents franchise, Little Fockers, has reached the top of the box office, earning $14.4 million cumulatively on its opening day and Thursday, according to early estimates. The battle-of-the-in-laws saga is competing against Disney's Tron, which brought in $43 million its opening weekend, and newly released Coen brothers’ film True Grit, which is brimming with Oscar buzz and earned a surprisingly impressive $11.2 million in the box office for Wednesday and Thursday. Whether or not Little Fockers will take the top spot for the entire Christmas weekend remains to be seen.
