Little League Team ‘Threw’ World Series

A girls' Little League team from Washington was accused of throwing a World Series game after it lost 8-0 on Monday. The undefeated South Snohomish, Washington team was no-hit by a North Carolina team, which meant it would not go on to play an otherwise-undefeated Iowa team it had previously beaten. In response to the apparent tanking, Little League International ordered the Washington team to play the Iowa team in a special playoff game to determine who would go to the semifinals. On Tuesday, the Iowa team beat the Wahsington team 3-2 and advanced.
