Lindsay Lohan will play the lead role in Inferno, an upcoming independent film about the life of ‘70s porn icon Linda Lovelace, who rose to fame after her star turn in 1972’s X-rated smash hit Deep Throat. Bill Pullman will play Hugh Hefner. Producer Wali Razaqi said the role would be challenging—not because of the sex, but because the porn star "was so battered and beat up emotionally, that I think it's gonna take everything Lindsay has to really be able to pull it off." Razaqi said Lohan would be able to relate, thanks to her own troubles. Lovelace, born Linda Susan Boreman, later denounced the career that brought her fame and became an anti-porn activist.
