London Olympics to Include Female Boxing

Young Irish boxer pushed the IOC to let women fight.

For the first time ever, female boxing will be included in the Olympics. Irish boxer Katie Taylor pushed the International Olympic Committee to recognize female boxing as a sport and to include it in the 2012 games in London. “The Olympics is the biggest competition in the world, and for every amateur boxer it’s a dream to go to the Olympics,” says the 25-year-old, who has been boxing for 14 years and dreams of competing in the upcoming games herself.
