Aviation may be a male-dominated profession worldwide, but that’s not the case for one plane returning to India today.
To mark International Women’s Day, Air India is welcoming back history’s longest flight by an all-women crew. The plane, which left New Delhi for San Francisco on Sunday, is not only staffed entirely by women, it’s even being handled by all-female crews for check-in and air traffic control.
But Air India isn’t stopping there. Also today, the airline is flying 21 other all-female staffed flights, though none are as long as the New Delhi-San Francisco journey.
