Louisiana Daycare Under Fire After Four Escaped Toddlers Found Wandering Near Highway

The Louisiana Department of Education reportedly suspended the license of a daycare after four 1-year-old children escaped the facility and were found wandering near a highway, local news station WAFB reports. The toddlers were reportedly able to slip out of supervision at Color Wheel Learning Center in late March and were found outside of a fence near Louisiana's Highway 44 by a passerby. The individual then reportedly returned the children to the daycare center. The staff at the center reportedly could not explain how the children were able to get out of the center. According to WAFB, the center also had a similar incident in October—when a 1-year-old escaped the play yard and wandered into the parking lot. The child was reportedly noticed by a staff member who happened to be in the parking lot at the time.
