Laura Loomer is alleging that even though she has been “loyal” to Donald Trump, one of his most prominent “administration officials” is censoring her: Tech multibillionaire Elon Musk, that is.
The far-right conspiracy theorist and Trump diehard claims that her posts on X are being hidden from her followers and that her account has been stripped of its monetization.
She has spent the last month on a crusade against Musk, the platform’s owner, who she believes is retaliating against her after she criticized him as a “tech oligarch.”

While Loomer’s account has been a near-constant stream of anti-Musk sentiment for weeks, she has now begun to target Trump, her one-time idol, who has made Musk a key advisor in his administration.
“It’s outrageous,” she wrote in a lengthy X post on Wednesday. “I worked my a-- off to help President Trump get elected and now I am being retaliated against, censored, and deliberately financially attacked as an independent journalist by one of his admin officials.”
“A billionaire named @elonmusk is trying to rob me, a hard working journalist who has been more loyal to Donald Trump than ANYONE, of the revenue needed to fund my reports through my own supporters’ subscriptions to my work,” she added. “It’s not Elon’s money. It the money of my own supporters who by their own free will wanted to support my work. It’s also my livelihood.”
On Thursday night, Loomer doubled down. In response to followers who said she wasn’t showing up in their feeds as much as she used to, Loomer wrote, “Censorship of my account by a Trump administration official. It’s important that we call things out for what they are.”
Since Trump’s political ascendance, Loomer has emerged as one of the most prominent voices in the MAGA media sphere. Her X account boasts over 1.4 million followers.
While Loomer, 31, fashions herself as an honest journalist, she has also been one of the key propagators of false far-right conspiracy theories and misinformation.
In the past, Trump has embraced Loomer—at least to an extent. She traveled with him on the campaign trail in 2024, even appearing with him on Sept. 11 despite the fact that she has pushed the theory that the 9/11 attack was an inside job.

Loomer’s spat with Musk began in earnest amid the biggest instance of MAGA in-fighting since Trump’s election: the culture war sparked after Musk and his former Department of Government Efficiency co-head, Vivek Ramaswamy, went to battle in favor of H-1B visas.
Many MAGA diehards—Loomer likely the most vocal among them—were not pleased, arguing that the visas, which bring talented foreign workers to the U.S., were a threat to job opportunities for American citizens.
The civil war, though it centered on immigration, laid bare a broader tension between MAGA stalwarts like Loomer and Steve Bannon and the tech bros, Musk chiefly, who bankrolled Trump’s 2024 campaign.
During the conflict, Loomer’s criticism of Musk became personal at times.
In one case, she called the world’s richest man “a stage 5 clinger who over stayed his welcome at Mar a Lago in an effort to become Trump’s side piece and be the point man for all of his accomplices in big Tech to slither in to Mar a Lago,” according to Rolling Stone.
Musk, meanwhile, dismissed Loomer’s jabs as “trolling.”
Soon after, though, Loomer and other MAGA critics of Musk’s reported that their verification badges had disappeared. Loomer said that her account had been demonetized, and she didn’t know why. Many of those affected accused Musk, who has called himself a “free speech absolutist,” of retaliatory censorship.
Loomer’s verification badge has since returned, but she still alleges that her account been shadow-banned and that she remains unable to monetize it.
Though she has continued to make posts in support of the new president, there have been hints that her fealty is being strained as he continues to stand by Musk.
“Have you noticed how the quickest way to be elevated in Trump world is to be anti-Trump?” she wrote on Thursday. “I’ve never understood this phenomenon. All I know is that I have always been loyal.”

Despite Loomer’s incessant complaining, neither Musk nor Trump has yet addressed her plight publicly. All she could do was watch as Musk, alongside other top tech CEOs, took center stage at Trump’s Inauguration on Monday.
“Big Tech all worked to destroy Trump for years,” she wrote during the ceremony. “Now they have the best seats for the inauguration, right next to President Trump’s family.”
