Ludacris Performing at Gitmo on July 4th

At the Navy’s “Freedom Festival.”

Ludacris will perform at the U.S. military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, on this Fourth of July. The “Freedom Festival” brings together military members and Department of Defense contractors each year, but the detainees won't be close to the action. The venue is miles away from the detention center, where at least 89 detainees still live. Notable guests in recent years include Jimmy Eat World and Jimmy Buffett. “Every year we get a special guest around the Fourth of July, but Gitmo hasn't seen a star with as big a name as Ludacris in several years,” said Navy Chief Monique Hilley. “The base is really looking forward to it.”
