M. Brotherhood Declared Terrorists

The Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist group, the Egyptian government decided following a suicide bombing attack on a police headquarters that killed 16 people this week. Though the Muslim Brotherhood has denied responsibility for the attack, the military-led government blames the group and has arrested thousands of supporters already in a crackdown against it. “Egypt was horrified from north to south by the hideous crime committed by the Muslim Brotherhood,” said Deputy Prime Minister Hossam Eissa. “This was in context of dangerous escalation to violence against Egypt and Egyptians and a clear declaration by the Muslim Brotherhood group that it still knows nothing but violence.” The group’s candidate Mohammed Morsi won Eygpt’s presidential election before he was ousted and replaced by the military.
