MacFarlane Gets Mixed Reax

As this year’s Oscar host, Seth MacFarlane has already set tongues wagging with his cheekiness while announcing the nominees. Joined by actress Emma Stone, MacFarlane gave viewers a preview of what’s to come when the curtain goes up Feb. 24, taking a few jabs at Harvey Weinstein and cracking Hitler jokes in between announcing Best Picture nods. While Piers Morgan thought MacFarlane’s approach to this whole Oscar nominations thing was a hoot, Ken Tucker at Entertainment Weekly called MacFarlane “smug” and “condescending,” but added that he’s excited to see him cause commotion during the show, and wrote, “It may be one for the ages.”
