Mathieu DBS/Reuters
A man wielding a machete and shouting “Allahu Akhbar!” attacked two female police officers in Belgium before being shot dead on Saturday. The incident, which took place outside a police station in the city of Charleroi, comes as authorities in Belgium are on high alert after a spate of terrorist attacks throughout Europe. Police have not yet released details on the condition of the two policewomen attacked, but Belgian media reported that one suffered serious injuries to her face. The identity of the machete attacker has not yet been disclosed.
