Macron’s Stepdaughter Slams ‘Grotesque’ Transgender Rumors About Her Mom
FIGHTING THE TROLLS
Brigitte Macron’s daughter has slammed the “grotesque” conspiracy theorists who claimed her mother was born a man as she praised Kate Middleton for fighting back against online trolls. Tiphaine Auziere spoke to the Telegraph about baseless rumors that France’s first lady was born under the name, Jean-Michel Trogneux, her brother’s name, that were published on a far-Right website in 2021 and forced Macron into taking legal action. She compared the ordeal to Kate Middleton being forced to make a public video revealing her cancer battle after conspiracy theories surfaced about her disappearance from the public eye. “It’s the same kind of thing we went through, and I find those kinds of polemics grotesque, on the same level as being told we are all being governed by lizards. So our response to that—or my mother’s response—was to file a legal complaint, and I trust the law to re-establish the truth there,” she said. “Because you have the really clear victims like my mother and the Princess of Wales, and then you have others who have been whipped up and muddled by the misinformation.” Last year, Brigitte Macron won a libel case against the freelance journalist who made the false claim that she was not born a woman.
