Major News Websites Hacked

By Syrian Electronic Army.

Midday on Thursday, visitors to various international news sites, including The Independent, Telegraph, and CNBC, received a pop-up alert from the Syrian Electronic Army revealing they had been hacked. PC World, Forbes, OK! magazine, the NHL, Elsevier, and Dell’s U.K. site also may have been affected, according to Twitter users. The pro-Assad group has been linked with similar attacks on Facebook and Twitter. Both The Independent and the Telegraph acknowledged the hack but assured that not all visitors were affected.
