Malaysia Airlines lost contact with a plane heading to Beijing with 239 people on board around 2:40 a.m. local time. The flight went missing around two hours after departing from Kuala Lumpur, and was supposed to land in Beijing at 6:30 a.m. "Malaysia Airlines is currently working with the authorities who have activated their search and rescue team to locate the aircraft," the airline said.
