Malaysia’s transport ministry said Tuesday that a piece of curved metal discovered off the coast of southern Thailand is not from the Malaysia Airlines passenger jet that went missing nearly two years ago. The piece wasn’t from a Boeing 777 and the part numbers on the debris were not listed on the Malaysia Airlines parts catalog, the ministry said. The suspected plane wreckage washed ashore in Nakhon Si Thammarat province Saturday, sparking speculation over whether it belonged to Flight 370, which disappeared with 239 people on board during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014. Debris from the plane washed up on the French island of Reunion in July 2015.
