Bangladeshi police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of U.S. blogger Avijit Roy, who was hacked to death last week. Cops detained Farabi Shafiur Rahman on Monday in Dhaka for making death threats against Roy on social media outlets. Rahman is described as a “fundamentalist blogger” by the Bangladesh Rapid Action Battalion. “He is the main suspect,” a police spokesman told the AFP. Rahman was also arrested in relation to the murder of another atheist blogger, Ahmed Rajib Haider, in February 2013, but was ultimately released.
