Los Angeles police have arrested the “person of interest” who was detained earlier in connection with the string of 55 arson attacks that had plagued the city. The suspect is a native of Germany who might have been motivated by a dispute with immigration officials as he fought for the status of a relative. Police found materials that could have been used to start fires inside the man’s minivan, and no new arsons have been reported since the suspect was taken into custody. "I feel very good that we've got the right guy," LAPD chief Charlie Beck said.
