Danish police shot and wounded a man who was trying to enter the home of 74-year-old cartoonist Kurt Westergaard, who drew the controversial cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed wearing a turban in the shape of a bomb in 2005. Westergaard has received several death threats since the cartoons were published along with the work of 12 other cartoonists. They sparked protests and the torching of Danish diplomatic offices in Beirut and Damascus in 2006.
